In a significant move to bolster community security and bring order to land sales, the Katsina State Government, led by Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, is set to issue an executive order mandating estate agents and land sale entities to register and obtain licenses.

Governor Radda revealed this development during a crucial stakeholders' engagement on land and physical planning matters at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Government House Katsina. The governor stressed the need for legalizing and sanitizing the land sale business to thwart criminal access to residential and business premises in communities.

He highlighted the empowerment of Community Development Committees by the law establishing the State Community Security Watch Corps. These committees will play a pivotal role in screening individuals interested in purchasing residential houses or land within their communities, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of those relocating.

Governor Radda emphasized the state government's commitment to collaborating with local government land administrators to raise awareness about their roles. Additionally, a comprehensive examination of all land allocations in cities will be conducted to ensure adherence to established procedures.

Expressing concern about allocations in front of government premises, Governor Radda asserted that all matters related to land allocation, building permits, and building plans must go through appropriate government agencies.

The governor reiterated that the stakeholders' meeting aimed to secure the cooperation of traditional rulers, council chairmen, estate agents, and other key figures involved in the land sale business.
